This is my portfolio from an internship I completed with the Oahe Zap baseball organization in the summer of 2024.  I was a digital and creative media intern, primarily specializing in photo and video.
This page is designed to give you an in-depth look at the projects I completed with the Zap.  While this is only a fraction of the content we produced, it shows the vast variety of pieces that was used to expand the team's following and increasing engagement with the community.
Videos

OBJECTIVE:
Create a flagship video for the summer highlighting the landscape, community, and team.
EXECUTION:
Take the best shots from a tour of the city, community events, and game days to begin to develop a narrative.  Cultivate a meaningful script and record four separate voice overs.  Incorporate a subtle but detailed sound design and finish with a natural color grade.

OBJECTIVE:
Develop a unique and collaborative piece using an array of tools.
EXECUTION:
Select footage from several games in white jerseys as they provide the best foundation.  Assemble a 26 second video and shorten the sequence to 12 frames per second as it makes the video appear like stop motion.  Export individual frames and print 3 by 3 pages of color and black and white for all 320 images.  Divide and conquer crayon and X-Acto knife segments.  Scan and import onto computer, overlay over original soundtrack, and add subtle sound effects.  Finally, export the masterpiece.
This project was made with our talented graphics intern, Adam Salem.
OBJECTIVE:
Create a podcast-style talk show that gives the fans a chance to hear from the players in a casual environment.  Additionally, develop introductory and closing sequences to plug-and-play into weekly episodes for efficiency.  The vintage instrumental and color pallet were intended to match the feeling of the restaurant.
EXECUTION:
The focus of this episode was to emphasize the connection the players have with their host family and the community.  The duo of Cole and Trey shined in this environment because they are college teammates and stayed with the same family during their time with the Zap.
OBJECTIVE:
Nick, better known as Swaggy P, became a fan and organization favorite throughout the season.  The intention of this video was to show the unique game day experience from the perspective of an intern.
EXECUTION:
Follow Nick throughout his typical activities.  This included his daily run, laundromat duties, and a mic'd up in the dugout while he recorded the stats of the game.  We recorded voice over segments after the filming of the video to better guide the viewers through his tasks.

OBJECTIVE:
Capture Chislic night from a fan's perspective, one of the biggest games of the season.
EXECUTION:
Look for fun, light-hearted moments throughout the game.  Show the staff having a good time and fans enjoying the game.  The final product is a part of a social media carousel, meaning it had to be sized to 1080 x 1350.  I made the video vertical so I could add the Chislic logos on the side and make the backdrop color the same as the beige from the logos.
Photos

I took plenty of photos throughout the season and utilized the relationships and trust that I gained with the players to make the images unique.  The players began to pose for me or run up to me after a big moment because they knew I would get the shot.  This allowed us to always have fresh images for social and graphics.
While graphic design is not my most polished skill, I created the designs below at the conclusion of the season with photos I had taken.  I consulted with Adam, our graphics intern on these as well.  It was fun to get more experience with layers, textures, curves, text, generative fill, masks, the brush tool, and much more.
